Our Story
A proper village pub, run with care...
The Six Bells is a family-run pub in the heart of Newdigate. We're here for the regulars who pop in for a locally sourced ale, the families on a Sunday, the cyclists looking for shade and a coffee, and the dog walkers warming up by the fire.
Our focus is simple: well-kept drinks, real local welcome, and a calendar of events that gives the village somewhere to come together. It is open every day from 8.30am for those that want a locally roasted coffee, tea, juices, breakfasts (cooked or pastries) and locally baked scones, cakes and brownies. We are open to 11pm for those who want something a little stronger and have food available all day.

We focus on local breweries and well-kept beer. Surrey Hills Ranmore and Shere Drop sit alongside ales picked by visitors to the pub on our ‘Beer Board’. It means we have a regular selection of ales, lagers and IPAs on offer.

The flagship beer is pale in colour with a subtle hint of grapefruit and lemon in the aroma. The wonderful hop bitterness is complemented by a balanced malt flavour. The beer has a long finish, which is moderately dry.

Verdant’s new offering is a hazy session New England pale ale, with mixed Mosiac and Citra Hops. All rather lovely.

Yes — dogs are very welcome throughout the pub. Water bowls are available throughout, and there is even a Dog Menu for some lovely snacks and chews to keep them entertained.

Do you serve food?
Food plays a huge part in bringing our community together. We focus on simple, well priced and high-quality food made with locally sourced produce wherever possible.
Day to day, our customers can enjoy a changing selection of sausage rolls, Scotch eggs, ploughman’s lunches and sharing platters, including Mediterranean-style boards, all designed to be enjoyed alongside a good drink and good company. Just make sure you reserve a table!
Throughout the weeks we host special food events in partnership with talented local chefs, producers and independent food businesses. Some take over our kitchen, while others bring their own specialist equipment to create something unique. These events give local businesses a platform, offer our customers something new to enjoy and create relaxed occasions where people can come together to eat, drink and spend time with friends, family and neighbours.
